It all began in 2018 when the first Dream Cask was launched to celebrate World Whiskey Day. This limited edition whiskey, a 32-year-old single pot still, immediately became a sensation, astounding whiskey lovers worldwide with its rich flavors of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and subtle spices. Each sip offered an exceptional experience, enhancing Redbreast’s reputation as a producer of top-quality whiskeys.
Redbreast’s Dream Cask Collection has truly been a dream come true for Irish whiskey lovers, but now the Irish whiskey brand is making its final show with a last bottling aged 38 years, making it the oldest release in the lineup.
Redbreast Dream Cask The Zenith Edition
The 7th edition of the Redbreast Dream Cask, called the Zenith Edition, is being released today, May 18. Fans have the chance to purchase the whiskey for €1,000 (or US$1,087) through Redbreast’s online ballot, which opens on Monday, May 20 at 12:00 PM GMT. So be sure to mark your calendar!
The Redbreast Dream Cask Zenith Edition is a remarkable 38 years old, bottled at 45.3% ABV, and crafted using a re-casking method said to honor the brand’s past and future. It is the creation of Redbreast’s Master Blender Dave McCabe and Master Blender Emeritus Billy Leighton.
This Irish whiskey, distilled in 1985, aged 27 years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels before undergoing a secondary maturation for the next 11 years in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
The expression is said to deliver “spice and vanilla notes, alongside ripe and juicy blackcurrant flavors from the sherry cask, with undertones of chocolate and nuts.”
