Alambik Distilleerderij is a small artisan distillery located in Midwolda, in the East Groningen region of Oldambt.
Wherever possible, we create our products according to the original tradition and recipe, artisanal and authentic, with the taste of the past. Within our range of beverages, we have several regional products: made from local ingredients or referring to the culture or history of Oldambt.
Our strength lies in organizing small-scale events (up to 20 people), where drinks and food are inseparably linked. From accompanying snacks to a full meal, in a homely environment where you will quickly feel at home.
Alambik?Alambik Distilleerderij
The name Alambik comes from the Arabic al ambic, which became known in Europe in the Middle Ages as the name for a still.
Today, the term stands for a simple distillation apparatus, consisting of a copper kettle and a deep lid shaped like a helmet.
The helmet collects the vapor from the kettle and then leads it through a connecting tube to the cooler. In the cooler, the vapor condenses and strong alcoholic drink drips out.
For us, it was natural to choose Alambik as the name for our company, because we own four alambik distillation apparatuses: Two with a built-in wood stove and a capacity of 150 liters, and two smaller mobile devices.
