Information published by WannaWhisky on this website is provided as it is. Despite our care, it may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and no rights can be derived from it. Where a user has a signed contract or a written agreement with WannaWhisky, that document governs rather than anything stated on these pages.

The website, its design, and the texts, images and software WannaWhisky publishes on it are ours. None of it may be republished, copied, reproduced or otherwise distributed without written permission. Content that users upload remains theirs; our Terms and Conditions set out the licence they grant us to display it.

Users are expected to use the website responsibly and in accordance with applicable law.

Content published by users

Most of what appears on this marketplace is written and uploaded by users: advertisements, photographs, descriptions, prices, reviews and the messages exchanged during a negotiation. WannaWhisky does not write that content, does not verify it, and does not edit it.

Where the platform helps a seller complete a listing — for instance by reading a label from an uploaded photograph and suggesting a distillery or a volume — that suggestion is only a starting point. The seller checks and corrects every field before publishing, and the advertisement that appears is theirs.

We also never handle the bottles. They go directly from seller to buyer, and no one at WannaWhisky sees, holds or examines them at any point. We therefore cannot confirm that a bottle is authentic, that it matches its description, or that its fill level, label, packaging or provenance are as presented.

This is why a buyer’s own judgement matters. A careful buyer reads the listing closely, looks at the photographs, asks the seller questions before agreeing a price and, where Buyer Protection is available, considers using it: it holds the payment until the bottle has arrived and had time to be inspected.

What we do and do not check

WannaWhisky is a platform on which users publish information and communicate with one another, publicly and privately. We act on reports, and we remove content and suspend accounts where our rules are broken. We cannot review every advertisement, message or transaction, and we do not try to: private conversations between two users are private: we open one only to handle a report about it, as our privacy policy describes.

It follows that the presence of an advertisement, an account or a message on the platform is not an endorsement by us, and is not a statement that we have checked it.

Liability

This page explains how WannaWhisky works and what that means for users. The rights and obligations that apply are set out in our Terms and Conditions, which take precedence over anything stated here.

A sale on WannaWhisky is an agreement between a buyer and a seller. They are responsible for what they agree, for what they say to each other, and for carrying out what they agreed; WannaWhisky is not a party to it.

Where a sale is paid with Buyer Protection, we hold the payment and assess a dispute on the evidence provided, as set out in our Terms and Conditions. Where buyer and seller settle a payment between themselves, we hold no money and can only mediate.

Nothing on this page limits our liability further than Article 9 of our Terms and Conditions, and nothing on it affects rights that a consumer has under mandatory law.
