WannaWhisky's Origins A Story of Whisky's & Wannahaves

From enjoying and collecting to selling and investing. That’s the short version of how WannaWhisky came into being.

Read more about our history and our future below.

A Growing Collection... Enjoying & Collecting

It started out with just drinking a lovely whisky every now and then and trying out some new bottles.
This quickly turned into a wild urge to collect unique, rare specimens.

Throughout the years I got to know a lot of people in the whisky world, which caused my collection to grow significantly.

In fact, it had grown sufficiently large that I had to start selling a few bottles.
So, I started looking for a platform to trade my whiskies. That’s where trouble started.

An Unwieldy Collection... Attempting to Sell

I soon found out that the number and types of websites to trade whisky is very limited.

Some websites collect high auction fees and others are just not really up-to-date anymore.

In other words, I couldn’t sell my whisky without incurring very significant costs or putting in a whole lot of effort.

My Own Collection Online The Solution

In that moment I decided to start WannaWhisky.

Why the name ‘WannaWhisky’? It describes exactly what I care about.
I want to sell my whisky’s, but I’m also still a collector at heart and there are bottles that I wannahave.

This website was a way to showcase the portion of my collection that I wanted to sell.
Ideal for when I spoke to other whisky collectors and enthusiasts.

Your Collection Online The Expansion

After friends started asking whether they could also add their whiskies on the website, I decided to simply make this a real, proper platform.

Everyone can buy and sell their bottles. So you can also add your collection.

No high (auction) fees, always up-to-date and no third party advertisements.
