About ijsvogel Arcen
De IJsvogel is situated in a restored working water mill located in the Barbara’s Weerd nature reserve; De Wijmarsche Watermolen. This water mill, equipped with an undershot and overshot water wheel, is powered by the Lingsforter stream. In the café known as “Schenkerij” with its rustic terrace, it’s pleasant to relax. The café is renowned for its assortment of coffee and tea variations. A visit is worthwhile. During a guided tour or visit, one can witness the two crafts of miller and distiller.
An ancient water mill is revived. Within a centuries-old water mill building, a cozy café with a rustic terrace has been set up. In the “Schenkerij,” the own-distilled gin, herbal bitters, and liqueurs are served. You can also enjoy coffee with pie and other drinks and snacks. Additionally, you can indulge in a delightful lunch.
During the guided tour or visit (without a guide), you’ll witness the two crafts: that of the miller and distiller. The tour takes you along the sack filling, milling, millstones, hoisting, herb attic, and distillery.
