Springbank Teams Up with Scottish Rock Band Travis for the Springbank Travis Raze The Bar 26 Year Old Whisky Release
Earlier this year, Springbank released the Springbank Countdown Collection No. 2, capturing the attention of whisky enthusiasts worldwide. Now, the distillery is following up with an exciting new collaboration—a 26-year-old whisky in partnership with the iconic Scottish rock band, Travis. This release not only highlights the distillery’s commitment to producing exceptional, aged spirits but also showcases their creative collaborations that bring a unique twist to their storied tradition.
In collaboration with the collective Caskade, Springbank is set to release a special 26-Year-Old Springbank whisky, distilled in the same year that the band Travis released their iconic album The Man Who. This release coincides with the launch of Travis’ latest album, L.A. Times.
The 26-Year-Old Springbank Single Malt has been aged entirely in a refill Bourbon hogshead and is bottled at 53.5% ABV. Scheduled for release at 12 Noon BST on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, only 234 bottles will be available for purchase through the Springbank website, priced at £1,250 (approximately US$1,587).
This marks a historic moment for Springbank, as it is the first time in nearly 200 years that the distillery has produced such a commemorative bottling.
Official Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Soft peat smoke, honeycomb, and tropical fruits create a classic Bourbon-matured Springbank nose.
- Taste: The palate is light and creamy, featuring fruit syrup, tinned peaches, and honeydew melon, with hints of wood spice and lingering peat smoke.
- Finish: A flinty note emerges in the finish, along with an ashy, campfire ember-like quality.
