A secure marketplace for private whisky collectors
Common Issues
Years of collecting whisky had us running into the same issues again and again.
Trading issues
When you buy or sell in an informal setting, situations repeat themselves. Like who goes first? Does the buyer send money first, without knowing if the (right) bottle will arrive? Or does the seller ship the bottle, trusting that the buyer will pay once it arrives? And what about counterfeits or conflict resolution if something goes wrong?
Price issues
The world of whisky trading is full of auction-based platforms that solve some of the trading issues. But inherent to auctions is usually a higher-than-market-rate hammer price. Buyers pay that price. And often a buyer’s fee of 10% or more on top that. And sellers don’t reap all the benefits. They often pay a seller’s fee of 15% or more. Not to mention the hidden fees that are tacked on.
For whisky collectors,
by whisky collectors
We believe the whisky community deserves better. And we (ambitiously) believe that we can do a better job. Buying new whiskies for your collection should be enjoyable and carefree. Selling whiskies to make room for new ones should be easy and reliable.
We created the marketplace that we needed as whisky collectors.
And we will support you the way we would want to be supported.
