Description
De Macallan Edition No. 4 werd in 2018 gelanceerd als het vierde hoofdstuk in de Edition-serie en viert zowel het whisky-erfgoed van Macallan als de opening van hun nieuwe, iconische distilleerderij in Speyside. Deze release legt de nadruk op de structuur van whisky en de rol die verschillende vattypes daarin spelen.
Master Whisky Maker Bob Dalgarno selecteerde zeven verschillende sherry-seasoned vattypen van Europese en Amerikaanse eik: butts (42%), hogsheads (40%) en puncheons (18%). Deze vaten komen van gerenommeerde Spaanse cooperages zoals Tevasa, Vasmya, Diego Martin en José y Miguel Martin. Door deze combinatie ontstaat een gebalanceerde, levendige whisky met zowel diepgang als frisheid.
In de neus vind je honing, zoete appels, sinaasappelschil en nootmuskaat. De smaak is zoet en rijk met vanille, butterscotch, toffee en citrus. De afdronk is lang met fruitig eikenhout en kruiden.
Gebotteld op 48,4% zonder toegevoegde kleur. Een prachtige viering van vakmanschap en innovatie.
